SIGN ON TO SUPPORT CRASH THE PARTIES

NEW YORK and LOS ANGELES – April 28, 2016 –Fuse (www.Fuse.tv), a national television network for the fast-growing Latino and multicultural 18-34 audience, and Voto Latino, the leading nonprofit organization empowering American Latino millennials by engaging them through civic media, today announced America Ferrera, Rosie Perez, Angie Martinez, Remy Ma and “Fat Joe” have signed on to support the Crash the Parties initiative through a series of exclusive PSAs. In addition, Rachel Maddow joins the esteemed panel of judges who will select two aspiring Latino reporters to cover the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. Crash the Parties is a partnership between Fuse and Voto Latino created to inspire and encourage Latino participation in the upcoming Presidential election.

Emmy Award-winning actress America Ferrera kicked off the PSA campaign on April 12, urging young Latinos to “take charge of the national debate.” For more than five years, she has been on ongoing supporter of Voto Latino and also serves as the organization’s Artist Coalition Co-Chair. The campaign rollout will continue with PSAs from Academy Award-nominated actress/community activist Rosie Perez, influential radio personality Angie Martinez, Grammy-nominated rap artists Remy Ma and “Fat Joe” (Joseph Antonio Cartagena), and others to be announced. PSAs will run on the Fuse and FM networks; Fuse.tv; FM.tv; votolatino.org; crashtheparties16.com; social media channels; as well as select cable systems across the U.S.

Rachel Maddow, MSBNC host of “The Rachel Maddow Show” and political commentator, is the newest judge to join the expert panel that will select two winners from ten finalists identified via a nationwide search and public voting process. After media training and orientation, the two winners will serve as Fuse reporters from the Democratic and Republican National Convention floors – appearing on television and online – offering an authentic perspective on the candidates, the election and issues at the forefront.

Maddow joins previously announced judges Jose Antonio Vargas, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, filmmaker and media publisher; Alejandra Campoverdi, current Director of Multicultural Content at the Los Angeles Times and former White House Deputy Director of Hispanic Media; Maria Hinojosa, award-winning host of long-running weekly NPR showLatino USA; Lizza Monet Morales, actor, journalist, producer and social media influencer; and Katherine Vargas, former White House Director of Hispanic Media.

Interested contestants between the ages of 18-34 can apply either online at crashtheparties16.com or at live events taking place at college campuses across the nation. Submissions are being accepted through May 15.
