El Tribeca Film Festival trajo el estreno de la película Madly que muestra en 6 cortometrajes la idea del amor en todo sentido – sexo, matrimonio, libertad, maternidad – en historias que suceden en diferentes partes del mundo a través de los ojos de importantes directores internacionales.
Uno de los cortos que resaltamos de la película es “Gangs of Wasseypur Clean Shaven” del director Anurag Kashyap. En los aproximadamente 15 minutos que dura el corto se muestra esa estructura social que existe en la relación entre la mujer y el hombre, donde hay una idea de superioridad masculina en India. Sin embargo, la historia le da un giro a esta idea al mostrar el poder que podría tener una mujer en una situacion de opresion. Radhika Apte hizo un papel extraordinario representando al personaje principal de una esposa en busca de esa libertad como mujer.
Gael García Bernal representó a latinoamérica con el corto Love of my Life donde el director muestra cómo el amor de pareja puede ser contradictorio al existir un día un amor fuerte y con el tiempo desaparecer, y cómo un embarazo influye en esa relación. Es un corto donde se resaltan esos momentos de total felicidad (Como cuando la protagonista baila al compás de la música) o momentos donde lo que un día era felicidad se convierten en disgusto.
Los otros directores que hicieron parte de este gran largometraje fueron Afterbirth por Mia Wasikowska (Australia), Dance Dance Dance por Sebastián Silva (Estados Unidos), Love Of Love por Sion Sono (Japón) y I Do por Natasha Khan (Reino Unido).
Tribeca Film Festival 2016 and love through the film Madly

The Tribeca Film Festival brought the premiere of the film Madly showing in 6 short films the idea of love in every way – sex, marriage, freedom, motherhood – in stories happening in different parts of the world through the eyes of major international directors .
One of the shorts that highlight the film “Gangs of Wasseypur Clean Shaven” director Anurag Kashyap. In the approximately 15 minutes that short the social structure that exists in the relationship between women and men, where there is a notion of male superiority in India is shown. However, the story gives a twist to this idea by showing the power that could have a woman in a situation of oppression. Radhika Apte made an extraordinary role representing the main character of a wife in search of that freedom as a woman.
Gael García Bernal represented Latin America with short Love of my Life where the director shows how love couple may be contradictory to exist one day a strong love and eventually disappear, and how pregnancy affects the relationship. It is a short where those moments of total happiness are highlighted (as when the protagonist dances to the music) or moments where what once was happiness become disgust.
