Purple Friday night as tribute for Prince
BROOKLYN — Fort Greene Park will turn purple Friday night as the area salutes the life and profession of Prince.
The tribute occasion will commence around 5 p.m. with a large group of DJs playing three hours of his music. Coordinators will then break out the extra large screen and demonstrate his clique exemplary “Purple Rain” at 8 p.m.
“On the off chance that you have a craving for moving’ and ‘u got the look,’ go along with me at Fort Greene Park as we commend the life and music of Prince,” said Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, one of the coordinators of Friday’s occasion, in an announcement. “Cash don’t make a difference 2 night,’ so put on your “supercute” ‘purple mixture,’ jump in your ‘minimal red corvette,’ and ‘How about we go insane.'”
The area paid tribute to Prince last Thursday with a self-contradicting piece party outside Spike Lee’s generation home office.
Prince was 57 when he was discovered dead inside his Minneapolis compound a week ago. Post-mortem examination results are pending.
Friday’s occasion is being facilitated in organization with the city’s Parks Department, the Fort Greene Conservancy and Councilwoman Laurie A. Cumbo.
