MANHATTAN STEAM PIPE EXPLOSION

On Thursday July 19th, at 6:39 am, there was a steam line rupture close to the iconic Flatiron in Manhattan. There was a lot of smoke but nobody got injured.

 

“Everything is now under investigation if your question might be what caused this, I’m going to tell you upfront we do not have that answer. That is a matter for investigation as soon as we have results of that investigation, of course we will share them. We do not have that answer now it’s just a few hours into this incident”, says the mayor Di Blasio during his update about the situation.

The de Blasio Administration today announced that Girl Scout Troop 6000, the first of its kind Girl Scout troop dedicated to serving girls and women in the shelter system as they get back on their feet, has expanded to 15 shelter facilities for families with children across all five boroughs, with more than 500 girls and women now participating in the leadership-and-community-development program.

2018 New York Times Travel Show Reports Highest Ever Attendance During 15th Anniversary Year

NEW YORK, Feb. 13, 2018 –The New York Times has announced that its annual Travel Show reached a new record of 32,398 participants—the highest attendance in the Show’s history. Attendance included 10,268 travel trade and 22,130 consumer attendees during the three-day event that took place from Jan. 26-28, 2018 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. 2018’s show marked the 15th anniversary of The New York Times Travel Show, the largest travel industry show in North America. Turkish Airlines was this year’s Presenting Sponsor.
